Peter continued his collaboration with filmmaker Jenn Wexler by supporting the production alongside producer Phil Kalin-Hajdu. His involvement included targeted producing support and assistance with production cash flow and payroll while he was concurrently working on PEARL.
THE SACRIFICE GAME
Directed by Jenn Wexler (The Ranger), THE SACRIFICE GAME is a 1970s-set Christmas horror film that blends home invasion, occult horror, and dark comedy.
Christmas break, 1971. Students Samantha and Clara are among the few remaining at the isolated Blackvale School for Girls when a gang of cult killers arrives at their doorstep. Intent on performing a ritual and summoning a demonic force, the intruders soon discover that Blackvale and the girls inside may be hiding something far more dangerous than they expected.
Written by Jenn Wexler and Sean Redlitz, the film stars Mena Massoud (Aladdin), Olivia Scott Welch (Fear Street), Chloë Levine (The Transfiguration), Gus Kenworthy, Madison Baines, Derek Johns, Laurent Pitre and Georgia Acken.
THE SACRIFICE GAME had its World Premiere at the Fantasia International Film Festival, where it won the Gold Audience Award for Best Canadian Feature. It went on to close FrightFest UK, make its U.S. Premiere at Fantastic Fest and serve as the Closing Night Film of the Brooklyn Horror Film Festival.
The film also won Best Graveyard Shift Feature at the Nashville Film Festival and Best Script at the Knoxville Horror Film Festival.
THE SACRIFICE GAME was released as a Shudder Original on December 8, 2023, and is available on Shudder and AMC+.
